Welcome to the first of our seven-part video series on Effectance: The Key to Motivation. Effectance motivation is a relatively new theory. It’s based on the premise that there’s a fundamental, underlying force that’s linked to job satisfaction, job enrichment, and individual motivation. It’s suggested that, once basic physical needs are satisfied, there’s a unique drive to have an effect on your environment, through your own efforts. In this video lesson, you will learn about and better understand what effectance motivation is and about the three effectance types: people effectance, object effectance, and self effectance.
