Welcome to the “Overview of Mental Health Challenges” video lesson intended to provide a high-level explanation of what mental illness looks like and what treatment options are available. This lesson is the second of five in the “Expert Insights: Workplace Mental Health with Michael Wellington” video course created to shed light on how to manage mental health in the workplace as an employee. During this lesson, learners will become familiar with common categories of mental health disorders: anxiety, mood, personality, psychotic, and trauma related. Viewers will also learn that there’s a lot of crossover between mental illnesses, and depression is one condition that’s common to many disorders and life situations. Finally, Michael Wellington will outline a variety of treatment and coping options, including medication, therapy, exercise, healthy diet, proper sleep, and journaling.
