Basic Computer Skills: Understanding Operating Systems

Welcome to the “Understanding Operating Systems” lesson intended to help learners understand how a computer’s operating system works. This lesson is the second of four in the “Basic Computer Skills” course, which helps employees improve their understanding of how to use a computer and provides the groundwork for greater independence when using a computer. In this lesson, viewers will learn how to open programs, manage files, and shut down or restart their computer. After viewing, learners will be able to open programs from the desktop or menu, save files, organize files into folders, perform the copy and paste functions, and shut down or restart their computer.
