Overview
This six-lesson course, “Bloodborne Pathogens in Healthcare Facilities,” provides an in-depth look at OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogens Standard and the steps healthcare employees and organizations must take to stay protected from exposure. Learners will explore how bloodborne pathogens are transmitted, which materials pose a risk, and how to prevent infection through safe work practices, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to exposure control procedures. By the end of this course, participants will understand their role in maintaining a safe healthcare environment, know how to respond to potential exposure incidents, and feel empowered to protect themselves and others from bloodborne diseases.
