PM Fundamentals: Waterfall/Predictive Project Management
By: Ashley Hunt
Overview
If you are amazing at your job and suddenly find yourself promoted and in charge of a project team, then you are considered an “accidental project manager”. Once in the position you’ll need to have the tools and techniques necessary to enter into the new role successfully. This skills-based project management course covers the fundamental knowledge that all project managers must have to successfully initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control the competing constraints of any project: cost, time, quality, scope, and resources.
This course focuses on “waterfall” or predictive style of project management. The waterfall project management approach entails a clearly defined sequence of execution with project phases that do not advance until a phase receives final approval. Think of something like a building or a bridge, there’s a clear beginning, middle, and end to the project.
