Protected Classes and the Workplace

Welcome to “Protected Classes and the Workplace,” a video lesson meant to help you understand what the protected classes are and how to ensure they remain protected at work. First, viewers will learn about the legislation that established the protected classes on the federal level, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Then, viewers will learn about what qualifies as discrimination and retaliation, particularly as it relates to employment practices. Finally, this lesson covers a few steps you can take as an individual and as an organization to help protect everyone at work.
